Shanequa Hunter, MA, LMHCA,

Therapist (In Office & Virtual)

I am Shanequa, a proud city girl with a warm heart and a zest for life. For almost 25 years, I have been happily married to the love of my life, and together we are raising two incredible children who bring immeasurable joy and purpose to my world. They truly are my three favorite people, and I treasure every moment we spend together as a family.

In my free time, I enjoy a variety of activities that nurture my soul. Whether it’s exploring new travel destinations, immersing myself in music that resonates with my emotions, or diving into a captivating book, I find joy and inspiration in every experience.

Academically, I earned my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University. I have dedicated over 20 years of my career to the field of mental health, specializing in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, various mental health challenges, and couples counseling.

My extensive experience in this sector has shaped my compassionate approach as a therapist. I believe that empathy and genuine understanding are fundamental to fostering strong connections. This belief guides my work as I strive to create a safe, supportive environment for my clients. I primarily use a cognitive behavioral approach during my therapy sessions, which focuses on transforming negative thought patterns into positive ones.

My ultimate goal is to guide each individual toward a place of inner peace and mental clarity, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.
