Rashaad Nelson, LCMHCA

Originally from Ohio, North Carolina has been my home for over 15 years. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can show up fully as yourself without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem, emotional overwhelm, and personal growth, while helping them build healthier ways to cope and move through life with more confidence and balance.

My approach to therapy is warm, genuine, and collaborative. I focus on creating real connections with my clients and meeting people where they are. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, person-centered therapy, and strengths-based techniques, while also making sure therapy feels natural, relatable, and tailored to each person’s needs.

I know starting therapy can feel uncomfortable at first, so my goal is to create an environment where clients feel safe, supported, heard, and empowered throughout the process.
