Roddy Tate Jr., MSW, LCSWA

Born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) dedicated to helping individuals and families uncover their strengths and move toward lasting change. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Elon University (2008) and Master of Social Work from North Carolina Central University (2010), combining academic rigor with a deep commitment to real-world community care.
I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adult males, particularly those navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and major life transitions. My work is grounded in strength-based, person-centered, and cognitive-behavioral approaches, allowing clients to feel both supported and challenged as they develop new coping tools and a clearer sense of self.
In every session, I bring authenticity, empathy, and a calm, grounded presence. I believe that effective therapy starts with trust and ends with transformation — helping clients not only manage difficulties but build confidence, direction, and resilience in the process. Whether in-person or through secure telehealth, my mission is to meet people where they are and guide them toward becoming their best selves.
